About

After graduating with a BA (HONS) in Design at Glasgow School of Art, my design career led me to become a College Lecturer at Forth Valley College, where I imparted my love and knowledge of Design to HND level students. In fact some of my former students are running their own successful design company in my home town.

My passion for design and entrepreneurship inspired me to establish my own design consultancy in the early 1990s. Over the years, I nurtured this venture into a highly regarded design company located in Stirling, Central Scotland, with prestigious clients like BP/INEOS, SEPA, Forth Valley Enterprise and the University of Stirling on board. I made a conscious decision to locate the company in a Stirling in a bid to draw clients away from the bigger cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and create work locally for young design graduates.

I’d always loved fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and this naturally led me to pursue a career as a Pilates Teacher. Not only did this decision align with my interests, but it also proved to be personally beneficial, as it assisted me in overcoming chronic back pain that had plagued me for nearly ten years. As a certified L3 Pilates Teacher, I found immense satisfaction in guiding my clients towards their own recovery from various aches and discomforts, which I consider a wonderful way to give back to others.

While attending fitness training courses and engaging with my fellow fitpros, I saw that there was a gap in the market for a digital marketing service tailored specifically for fitness professionals. The pandemic fast tracked this business plan as fitness teachers needed to move their businesses online. To date I have created over 50 websites for fitness professionals ranging from single page sites to complex membership sites.

Originally naming the company Fiit Marketing, in May 2024 I rebranded as JR Digital Design as the company expands into other business sectors; some of which include Landscape Gardeners, a Wedding Car Hire company, a Sports Massage Therapist, Aesthetic Beautician and a Lifestyle Coach.

I’m excited to bring my knowledge and skills to a larger market via my training academy, the JR Digital Academy which empowers people on how to create their own websites and provide ongoing training services.
